Mad Men Fashion - Vintage comeback

So I've been watching season 1 of Mad Men and been falling in love with the old 1960's feminine style.  It's a very put together, collective, classy, and very classic look.  They also heavily accessorize with matching shoes, pins, earrings, necklaces, gloves..etc.   Love it!    Love love the prints, the fabrics, and clean lines!  Very Jackie-o  american sports wear.

They do say fashion recycles no?  And vintage has always been *hot* .  Alas, I don't think i'll ever manage to look as put together though!

These are only a FEW that caught my eye on the site...so many more, didn't have time to comb through.  But modcloth is kind of expensive (100 ish for a dress)  for what it is though (only slightly better than f21)  Blah...would love to try these on though!

Cheap Wedding gowns - White by Vera Wang

OMG I SWEAR I'm not in a "getting married mood"  LOL.  It just happens that three of my good med school friends are getting married in like a couple of months.  and  it is almost Vday LOL! Which means chocolates , even if your single...that means cheap after vday chocolate sale.  YES!

So Vera Wang came out with a cheap line for David's Bridal.  Which is awesome cause I LOVE VERA WANG GOWNS lakjdf;ajfjaf;aj.   Even for someone who's not into marriage or whatnot...who doesn't wanna dress up like a freaking princess lol.   BUT of course her real ones cost a  $83478374 dollars... just more than I can stomach to spend on ONE dress for ONE day.

Soooo when I heard they were coming out with a line that was going to be  under 2 grand for David's Bridal, the thriftiness in me was excited to see what they'd come up with.

All in all...I'm not too impressed =( .  It lacks a certain flair and attention to detail of her regular collection.

But I am impressed with the PRICE.   Here are the only ones that caught my attention:

1. Love the sweatheart , the lil lace straps,  and overall simple look, no fancy lace or frills and no fancy price either!  $700

2. I would get ride of that weird bow in front.  But I like the sleeves and V neck on this one and the silhouette but I feel like you need to be very tall and slender to pull this one off right...

3.  like the open back on this one and the buttons..not sure what the front looks like  and the bottom is really not my style though...reminds me of folded cupcake liners...

 3.  I'm usually not a fan of covered up shoulders and sleeves but I love the lace detail on this.  Again the bow is not really doing it for me and the bottom looks a lil plain for me.

Sigh, but when you look at her (clicky) actual collection (clicky) *drool*  it is SO much prettier.

What do you think of the White by Vera Wang collection?   Maybe when its OUR turn....in years to come, they'll have more exciting choices at the same reasonable prices no?   

Enagement rings - how to make a small diamond look bigger

NO - I'm not engaged
NO - I do not want to get engaged anytime soon

YES - I like shiny things..like rocks and what shinier thing is out there other than the engagement ring.  AMIRIGHT?

 so when I was looking at this site my friend's fiance had ordered his ring for her..cause well her ring was shiny and very pretty I had to find out !  lol and i like to procastinate..what better than to look at *SPARKLY*  things ..

As you know, me and Mathelly have always swooned over the Classic Tiffany's Setting

Sadly, there are limitations to this setting....I've come to the realization that prices go WAY up way fast as you go from 1 ct to 1.5 ct.   (you're looking at like going from 5-10 grand for that half carat up)

HOWEVER.... SIZE does make a difference lol.

Unfortunately with a 1 ct ring with the classic 3 prong setting...the diamond looks...rather small.  Esp if you add a wedding band next to it.

Here is ..in real life what a 0.94 ct classic setting looks like.

 I think inorder for the Classic Tiffany's setting to stand out, it needs a big rock  (at least 1.5ct)  to make it a "statement'.   The 1ct just doesn't cut it.

but...add a lil sparkle to it ....

Same size diamond...but doesn't it look bigger?  I think its the affect of the smaller ones around it.

Dang!  look at that thing, its still a 1 ct diamond but it looks so much..um bigger o_O

This has opened my eyes to a world of choices!  I think this look still holds the very "classic" look but really up's the ante from plain jane to BAM!

Just pondering

I was just wondering..I shop a substantial amount....and I find that things start to overflow REAL quick.   So my pondering is...what do those bloggers and gurus do?    From their post and videos they must shop substantially MORE than I ever do.

So my question is...where does it all go?   Do they have some magic closet that is ever expanding to fit all the STUFF.  Does it get returned?   Does it get sold?    I can barely keep up with my crap as it is.

I thinks someone needs to do a video on .."what happens to the stuff after shopping", because I dont' know what to do with it -____-

oh had to change my address to hamstershopsalot.blogspot.com because bobby has become a regular reader and likes to make fun of me lol.

Oh M GEE  so I went to get my haircut at a new salon... after perming it and dying it ..the ends were so damaged and tangled that even extensive conditioning in the shower still left it a tangled mess in the mornings.   Le Sigh.   I was REALLY hoping to grow it out , but I've learned from my mistake ...to just leave it alone if my goal is to get a healthy lenght.

Anywho....so onto my horrific story.   I wanted to get a blunt cut to past my collar bone ...something like this lenght (not the bangs of course)

somehow the stylist chopped it off ABOVE MY SHOULDERS.   *TEAR*  it is SO SHORT now.   And even shorter in the back.   They messed it up pretty bad.   I put a bad yelp review up and they called to apologize...thats how bad it was.

I'm not one to cry over spilt milk but having grown it for so long it was a bit sad to see it chopped off and so drastically.   I had it fixed and ..well  anyways I haven't shown ANYONE.  but here it is....
